Building Your Online Course In-Person

Registration is now open for “Building Your Online Course” (BYOC), which will begin Wednesday, February 13, 2019 and run for 4 weeks, ending Tuesday, March 12, 2019. This BYOC course is part of the online course and instructor approval process. During this 4-week course,  we will discuss online pedagogy as well as the tools available for preparing and offering an online course at Fredonia.

Completing BYOC during this session will help to prepare you to teach online starting in Summer 2019 and beyond. Information about the online course and instructor approval process can be found at the Online Course Preparation page.

Prior to the start of BYOC, you will need to complete four MicroCourses.

MicroCourse 1: Online Learning Basics

MicroCourse 2: Online Student Supports

MicroCourse 3: Interaction/Engagement

MicroCourse 4: Assessment for Learning

The above links will take you to courses built in OnCourse. You will need to "Self Enroll" in the courses using these directions: https://answers.fredonia.edu/x/xoAg

If you have any questions about BYOC, please contact Lisa Melohusky at lisa.melohusky@fredonia.edu

This course is offered 100% online. You will not be required to come to campus or meet during scheduled times.

**Note**

This course will be offered in OnCourse, giving you the opportunity to experience online learning as a student. However, the course is about online pedagogy, and not use of the LMS. If you have not already, we encourage you to complete both the Introduction to OnCourse and OnCourse Gradebook workshops. Schedules for these workshops are available through the PDC.
