Objectives: In the first workshop, I will explore the world perceptions of America and American people, focusing on China’s as well as the Middle Eastern people’s perspectives.

Activities:

1. I will ask the audience to identify certain countries on a world map to exam how much

we, as Americans, know about the world.

2. Discussions: What stereotypes do we have against people from a different country, for

example, from China and from the Middle East? Where do the stereotypes come from?

3. How do you think the world perceive the U.S., and American people?
